Join us for our monthly Shabbat Salon! Our November speaker is Marilyn Gisser, TBH member with over twenty years of experience in Washington State government public health and health services planning and administration. She will address trauma and resilience in children. We will begin with a full Shabbat service at 6:00 pm followed by a catered dinner and presentation in the Social Hall at 7:00 pm. You must register for the dinner by e-mail or sign up and pay on our event page!

FORKids Food Packing

Klezmer & Yiddish Song with Jake Shulman-Ment & Eleonore Weill
Saturday, November 24, 1:00 pm

The workshop is open to instrumentalists and vocalists from intermediate through professional levels. Attendees will learn old spiritual and dance melodies by ear in the way klezmer music has traditionally been passed down. We will also learn to phrase, ornament, and accompany the melodies in the Ashkenazic Jewish folk style, and explore modal improvisation using typical Eastern European Jewish motifs and scales. Klezmer & Yiddish Song with Jake Shulman-Ment & Eleonore Weill

Join TBH for an evening of music of with an expressive and intimate understanding of klezmer and Yiddish folk song. Jake and Eleonore explore the boundaries of Yiddish music with creative repertoire, instrumentation, and interpretation.

This event is open seating. RSVP is not required but would be appreciated!

 

 

Kol N’Shama Open Choir Rehearsals
Sunday, November 25, 4:30 pm

Kol N’Shama, the choir at Temple Beth Hatfiloh, invites you to open rehearsals in November to learn a song that you can then sing with us to close the Shabbat service on Friday, December 7th.

You are welcome to join us on Sunday, November 25th from 4:30-5:00 pm to learn a round by Linda Hirschhorn. Linda is one of our favorite composers who has performed and taught at TBH twice in the past several years.

When you arrive at TBH, if there isn’t someone at the door already to greet you, text the Choir Director, Lydia Beth Leimbach, at (360) 878-1013 and a choir member can let you in. The Federation’s need-based camp scholarships program helps Washington State families with the cost of Jewish overnight camp tuition. By providing you with a variety of funding options, our goal is to ensure that you receive the assistance you need so that your child/children can participate in a Jewish overnight camp experience.
