Explore Chosenness this Shavuot
Saturday, May 19, 8:00 pm


Join us as we celebrate Shavuot, the springtime festival marking the biblical story of the revelation of the Torah at Mount Sinai. Shavuot is traditionally marked by late night Jewish study. This year, we will dedicate the evening to an exploration of the idea of Chosenness and The Chosen People with a documentary film and conversation. Click here for the full schedule.

 

 

Hiring Beit Sefer Teachers
The Beit Sefer program is looking for a few committed people to join our paid teaching team beginning in the upcoming school year. Our teachers are responsible for teaching Judaic knowledge, Torah and Hebrew language skills to a class of up to ten students. The ideal candidates will be passionate about helping children develop their own Jewish identity within a framework of Reconstructionist Judaism. They should have an ability to create relationships with a variety of students, know how to manage a class and make learning an active and meaningful process. Pride Parade Help Needed
TBH is a regular participant in the Capital City Pride parade, scheduled for this year on Sunday, June 10 from 12-1. Although regularly organized by Rabbi Seth, he will be out of town this year to attend meetings of the Reconstructionist movement If you are able to help coordinate TBH’s participation, please contact the Rabbi at rabbi@bethhatfiloh.org.
